Franchisee Selection Process
 
Our restaurant franchisees must be fast learners and business minded with specials skills in leading, inspiring, teaching, developing and motivating others. They must be good listeners and communicators, have a minimum management experience, be extremely organized, have a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed, enjoy dealing with people, and be adequately financed with liquid assets of at least $200,000.
 
Training & Support
 
The services and advantages available to you in connection with a Santorini Island Grill Franchise are numerous and combine to make a the Santorini Island Grill location a complete turnkey business opportunity for greek food franchise owners. Prior to opening of the location, we will schedule your participation in the Santorini Island Grill Training Program. It is important that the owner and/or the key manager of the new franchised site completes the entire training program. The Program involves, both classroom orientation and practical work in one of our training stores or at your location. We will continue to be available to you as long as you own your business. Site Selection, Criteria & Demographics
 
  • A Santorini Island Grill site must be placed on a regional shopping mall, strip mall or local shopping center with strong anchor tenant(s) situated in the primary retail zone of trade area. Other specialized locations like college campus should be considered. The site should be a rectangular space of 700 – 2,500 total square feet with a minimum of 15 – 25' feet of frontage. Freestanding building or end-cup unit with access to patio dining are preferred.
     
  • The site should be convenient to residential, industrial and commercial areas, schools and recreational facilities with extensive foot traffic. Preferred locations at or near a signaled intersection with a minimum combined traffic count of 40K+ cars / day, minimum traffic count on primary street of 30,000 cars per day.
     
  • A Santorini Island Grill location must have excellent visibility from an intersection or from a primary street. The parking area should have at least 75 parking spaces in close proximity to the Santorini Island Grill location. More than 75 spaces may be required depending on the size of the store and the mix at the remaining tenants in the shopping center.
     
  • Minimum permanent population of 50,000 within a 3-mile radius / 7-minute drive time and a positive population growth trend. Median age of 50 or less with minimum household size of 2.5 persons. Average household size of 3 or greater preferred. Minimum of 30% of population over the age of 25 and median household income of $50,000 or greater.
     
  • A Santorini Island Grill site must have availability of licenses or permits for the sale of beer and wine and for a highly visible sign.

Therefore, all potential franchisees and investors should make an independent investigation as to the profitability of any business opportunity, including Santorini Island Grill.

    Answer:A typical Santorini Island Grill unit occupies approximately 1,200 – 1,800 square feet of floor space. There are no costly or complicated structural designs or interior decorations required. Opening your unit is a simple and quick process as compared with many other businesses.
     
    Question:What kind of training do I receive?
    Answer:A very important benefit of our Greek restaurant franchise package is our exceptional Santorini Training Program (STP) for owners and key personnel. Included in this comprehensive program are both classroom and hands-on training in all areas of operations. In addition, supplemental training programs will be offered on an ongoing basis.
     
    Question:What assistance and support do I receive?
    Answer:Beginning with your site selection, obtaining equipment and supplies, pre and post grand opening, through day-to-day operations, Santorini Island Grill is with you every step of the way to help insure the success and growth of your business. You will receive a confidential complete Santorini Island Grill Operations manual with periodic updates covering all areas of the Santorini Island Grill System. Our helpful management staff will communicate with each franchisee on an ongoing basis and is available for consultation and assistance on all facets of your operation.
     
    Question:Is the franchise a salable or transferable asset?
    Answer:Yes, you may sell or transfer your franchise to a buyer or transferee approved by Santorini Island Grill's parent company called Santorini Franchise Development Company (SFDC).
     
    Question:What is the investment necessary to open a Santorini Island Grill?
    Answer:The initial franchise fee for an individual unit is $39,500. The total cost for starting your operation will range from $154,500 - $273,000. This includes the franchise fee, leasehold improvements, equipment, initial inventory and supplies, advertising, required working capital and the Santorini Training Program. Keep in mind that costs do vary based on location, the size of the unit, suppliers and other factors. Santorini Island Grill will work with you in obtaining the lowest costs when possible.
     
    Question:What is the charge for continuing services?
    Answer:Each franchise owner is required to pay a monthly royalty for the high level of services provided by Santorini Island Grill. This monthly royalty is 6% of all gross sales per month, exclusive of sales tax. In addition, there is an advertising fee of 2% (two percent) of gross sales, exclusive of sales tax.
     
    Question:What is the term of the Franchise License?
    Answer:The initial term of the franchise agreement is ten (10) years. However, you will have the option to renew and extend the franchise for one (1) ten (10) year period for a total of twenty (20) years.
     
    Question:How soon can I open my Santorini Island Grill Franchise?
    Answer:Once the Franchise Agreement has been signed and the site selected, your new business can be operational in approximately 90-120 days.
     
    Question:Are there any royalty fees?
    Answer:Yes! The royalty fee is 6% of gross sales, excluding sales taxes. In addition, a 2% of marketing fee will be charged to your company.
     
    Question:Does Santorini Island Grill do any financing for franchisees?
    Answer:Santorini Island Grill does not offer any direct financing, but may direct you to various lending institutions with financing programs for which you may qualify.
     
    Question:Is previous restaurant and/or food experience necessary to obtain a Santorini Island Grill franchise?
    Answer:When you start a business in any field, experience is always helpful, but is not required. Our Santorini Island Grill Training Program for all new franchisees will teach you all of the essentials needed to open and operate your franchise(s).
     
    Question:Is there a charge for the Santorini Training Program?
    Answer:No. However, travel expenses, lodging and food costs necessary to attend the Santorini Island Grill Training Program are the responsibility of the individual franchisee.
     
    Question:Does Santorini Island Grill provide the site and construct the building for a new franchisee?
    Answer:We will assist in site selection, with lease or purchase negotiations, construction specifications and plans. All franchisees may find their sites, but please remember that all sites must have the final approval of Santorini Franchise Development Company (SFDC) which is the parent company of Santorini Island Grill.
     
    Question:Should I form a corporation or a partnership to own a Santorini Island Grill franchise?
    Answer:Your legal and financial advisors should be able to advise you for the type of business entity you would like to form in order to run one of Santorini Island Grill's sites. Keep in mind, no matter what business form your entity will have, all stockholders and/or partners/owners will have to sign agreements, which guarantee the obligations of the franchise entity.
     
    Question:I would like to have a copy of Santorini Island Grill's franchise agreement to study before I make my decision. Will you send me one?
    Answer:A Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (U.F.O.C) will be provided no later than our first personal meeting and at least 10 days before the signing of any agreement or payment made by you. The U.F.O.C contains a copy of our franchise agreement and a wealth of information regarding both your obligations under the agreement and detailed information about our company.

    The application form is the most important part of our evaluation in reviewing your qualifications to grant you a Santorini Island Grill Franchise. All parties wishing to be part of the Franchise Agreement must complete a separate Franchise Application Form. The Franchise Application Form will remain Confidential and will be used strictly for the purposes of Santorini Island Grill's discussions for Franchise Development.
